Gettin Crafty!

These letters have been turning heads lately and I have been asked how they were made.  Well here we go!  Download a cursive font that you fancy (I used Schoolhouse Cursive B).  I put one letter at a time into Photoshop and changed the color to white and the stroke (outer edge) to different shades of blue.  Once printed onto cardstock, I colored in the arrows with a good ol’ fashioned red Crayola marker.  Them came the cutting…

Using a cutting mat and an exact o knife, I carefully cut about 1/4 inch from the blue line all around the letters.  Warning – this takes a while…  But the result is artistic and a much better approach to teaching cursive than the lame alphabet strips for sale at every teacher store in town.  Happy crafting!
